A Review of Subjective Assessments in Virtual Reality for Lighting Research

Immersive virtual reality allows showing people environments with high levels of presence, realism, and “feeling being”, as if they were in the real world. With this aim, must provide proper light distributions elicit sensations similar to those seen So far, experiments human subjects are most effective way evaluate accuracy reproducing spaces. This paper investigates role subjective assessments lighting research using reality. According review results, investigations aimed at immersive for can mainly be divided into three groups: (i) comparison between physical environments, (ii) analysis different scenarios, (iii) investigation users’ interaction model.
